Fall 2025: The Nutcracker
Our fifth annual performance of the world-renowned Ballet, The Nutcracker at MDSA!

The MDSA Foundation provided the fifth annual performance of the world-renowned Ballet, The Nutcracker, this Holiday season. This Ballet was originally adapted from E. T. A. Hoffmann's story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King". It was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a score by Tchaikovsky. We're so grateful for the support our MDSA community gave our 2025 cast and staff!
There was no fee to audition but a casting fee to participate in our performance. Students must be enrolled in Ballet and be at least 6 years old (as of September 1st).
MDSA Students: $60 casting fee
Community members: $100 casting fee
Adult cast: No charge
Practices and rehearsals began on Wednesday, October 1st and went through November. They took place on Wednesday evenings, Friday evenings, and Saturday mornings. These were scheduled by parts after the cast had been finalized. Practices and rehearsals were required!
