Spring 2022 Recital

Recitals are very fun and something we have been working hard for all year but they can also be a little stressful and hectic if things don’t go as planned or students are late etc. Please be there on time and also please be patient with our staff and volunteers.

Before you contact the studio with a question, please check through this recital page to see if you can find the answer there. We are happy to answer questions but are very busy so please check here first.

Location: MDSA (100 Cypresswood Dr, Suite #1440, Spring TX 77388) Time: 9:30 to 4:30 (see full schedule)
Dancer & Parent Guidelines

Dancer Guidelines

  • Please have dancers arrive 35 mins before their scheduled performance times. Do not come earlier or more than 5 minutes late for your scheduled arrival time.

  • How should your child arrive? Tights on, cover-up of some type, full make-up, and hair done along with their dance bag and extra water. They should be ready to put the costume and dance shoes on and be ready to perform!

  • Remove ALL nail polish (fingers & toes)!!

  • Please enter quietly and follow the signs and/or volunteers to the designated changing area. The lobby will be used as audience overflow, so please be mindful of those watching the dances in progress.

  • Dancers typically DO NOT wear underwear with their costumes, this is why they wear tights. If this makes your dancer uncomfortable, please provide them with the proper skin toned underwear. This does not apply to our boy dancers. Have boys wear underwear.

  • Ballet buns should be at the upper-middle of the head and follow the line of the cheek-bone.

  • Dancers must stay in the dressing room and must not wander the studio. They need to be able to be found by our costume staff or teacher at all times. Please stress the importance of them staying in the dressing room until instructed to get lined up.

  • After dancers perform they will be taken back to the dressing room. Please wait for them in the lobby after the block of performances is over.  A staff member will bring them to you at that time.

  • Parents do not leave your seats until all dances in that section have performed. Your child will be taken care of, hugged, praised, and kept safe for those few minutes until you can leave Studio A.

  • Once the dancers are dressed and ready, they will wait with their class in Studio B. Dancers will be led out and kept safe by a teacher or pre-chosen staff member.

  • For privacy reasons, there are no pictures allowed in the dressing rooms. Tell your tween and teen dancers this as well. You may go into the hall if you want to take a picture or a selfie.

  • Please make sure you have all costume pieces for which you are responsible. This includes shoes, tights/socks, and skin colored undergarments if needed for quick changes.

  • Label Everything! Every shoe, brush, water bottle, make up bag, etc.

Parent Guidelines

  • You are responsible for informing your guests of our rules.

  • There are NO PICTURES allowed in the dressing rooms.

  • Please enter quietly and follow the signs and/or volunteers to the designated changing area. The lobby will be used as audience overflow, so please be mindful of those watching the dances in progress.

  • Parents are not permitted in the dressing rooms other than for quick help with the costume or costume/hair changes. If you need help with the costume, you need to be quick and return to the lobby. As a reminder, there are no pictures allowed in the dressing rooms.

  • Each family will receive 4 tickets. If you are in need of more than 4 tickets, the extra guests will watch from the lobby UNLESS there is extra space in the performance room (studio A at the back of MDSA).

To clarify: We cannot guarantee any additional seating other than the four. IF there is space, we can add guests who are waiting into the performance room.

  • Last year we were very successful in getting almost all of our guests in to see the performance they were there for. We cannot guarantee it and we ask that you are kind to each of our staff and volunteers. We will ask those to leave if they are rude, pushy, or demeaning to another individual.

  • Parents will be asked to wait in the lobby until it is time for their dancer’s block of performances.

  • It is very important that audience members stay seated in studio A for the entire time block they are scheduled for. Dancers will be led out and kept safe by a teacher or pre-chosen staff member.

  • Please do not take videos and photos during the performances, this distracts our dancers and others in the audience. It can also interfere with the recording the studio will provide. The recording we have is available for purchase.

  • A link for online viewing will be sent out next week.
