MDSA How To's - Zoom
As MDSA Staff & Teachers, we are overjoyed that we can continue to hold class virtually during this time of social distancing through a free online video conferencing service, Zoom. Our amazing Office Staff, Ms. Moriah, Ms. Samantha, and Ms. Jen put together a helpful How To video explaining how to access Zoom, as well as your Parent Portal and join our Studio Remind. You can watch the full video at the bottom of this post.
Here is everything you need to know about Zoom in one spot:
>>How to join a Live Class<<
...From A Cell Phone:
>Download the Zoom App
>Go to Join and put in the Studio provided ID and password to join your Live Class.
...From A Computer:
>Go to zoom.com
*No Sign Up/Account
*If you need to download anything, it will prompt you.
>Go to Join A Meeting and put in the Studio provided ID and password.
>This is what will pop up after you have joined your Class.
*Make sure to join with Computer Audio.
Once you join a meeting, you will be put into a virtual waiting room. The Teacher will then admit you into the Class!
If you face any difficulties, the fastest way to contact Ms. Moriah is through the Studio Remind. See additional blog post on how to join the Studio Remind. You can also email or Facebook message the Studio and our wonderful Office Staff will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Other helpful tips. . .
-If your student is standing in front of a window, be sure to close the blinds or shades so the Teacher can see them.
-Position your student so they can be seen from their head to their toes.
-If you are late for your class, just send us a message through Remind or the Zoom Chat. Classes will start on the hour and end 50 minutes later. Students will not be able to join the class if the class is over half way over but don't worry! You can access all Classes through your Parent Portal! See post on how to access your Parent Portal.
-Casting from an Apple device to an Apple TV does work! As well as connecting a Computer to the TV through an HDMI cord.
Remember to have these helpful things on hand before your class begins:
-Yoga mat, blanket, or towel for stretching on hard floors
-Ballerinas, chair for make shift Ballet barre
-Dance clothes!!! Stay modest and wear your tights, not only for your protection and modesty.
