Ballet

Alessandra Reynolds has been dancing ballet from the time she was three years old into her adult years. Her training includes years with Rowland Ballard under Cheryl Rowland, Studio of Dance under Gilbert Rome, Victoria Vittum, and Amy Beatty, and American Academy of Dance under Angela Jackson, Barbara LeGault, and Kerry Godkins. She also performed in Houston Dance Theatre at Regional Dance America Southwest Festivals in numerous Gala ranking ballets. She attended many ballet summer intensives including Joffrey Midwest under the late John Magnus, Walnut Hill School for the Arts on scholarship, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School. After high school, Alessandra was accepted and attended Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s Grad Program where she danced corps de ballet roles with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and was cast in new ballets for the program. Over the years she danced in numerous roles and ballets including Sugarplum Fairy and Dew Drop in The Nutcracker, Princess Florine with the Bluebird in The Sleeping Beauty, peasant girl in Romeo and Juliet, modern solo in Still by Robert Mills, Blackbird by Katy Winn Ellison, and many more. Later, she attended University of Houston and earned her Bachelors of Science in Science Education with magna cum laud honors. She now teaches 6th grade science in The Heights, and is very excited to share her ballet knowledge and technique with her MDSA family!
